•  Neus: Intense DOK, dat kan niet missen, maar gesofisticeerder en delicater dan sommige anderen. Veel complexer, met een sterk bloemige en fruitige kant. 
•  Mond: Typisch Hampden, met veel tropisch fruit, asfalt en aceton. 
•  Afdronk: Hier steekt de turf van het ex-Islay vat op een weergaloze manier de kop op. Het profiel van de rum verandert drastisch, de afdronk wordt rokerig, ziltig en aards. Een onverwacht maar zeer geslaagd huwelijk!
